Equipped with a rest area, restroom facilities, and an open lawn, the Akaike Pond area is the perfect place for day hikes.
Winding through beech forests, the trails are wide and well maintained, ensuring safe and fun hiking even for beginners. There are several view points along the trails, and on clear days hikers can see Mt. Myoko and the distant Japan Sea.
The landscape is particularly beautiful during the period of new greenery in spring (mid-May) and autumn colorful foliage in fall. (late October)
